Danielle lost 70 pounds | Black Weight Loss Success

Transformation of the Day: Danielle lost 70 pounds. After giving birth in 2011, she began her fitness journey—not just for her own well-being but to set a healthy example for her son. Through hard work and determination, she not only reached her goals but also earned a degree in Kinesiology, became a personal trainer and figure competitor.

What was your motivation? This question is the easiest to answer. My motivation is my son. I’m motivated every day to be the best version of myself for him and set the example.

What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My son, of course, continues to inspire me, but once I started teaching fitness classes and personal training (shortly after dropping all my baby weight in 2012), my clients motivated and continue to motivate me.

How did you change your eating habits?
I saw the most change once I gave up soda and stopped as much drinking alcohol. I also obtained my BS in Kinesiology and became a personal trainer. With this knowledge, I created my own meal plan, which is actually available on my website for FREE at Daniellefitness.com.

What is your workout routine?
I work out seven days a week. I do a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio every day and weightlifting 5-6 days a week-heavy weightlifting. I usually start Mondays with deadlifts/leg day. Tuesdays – chest and back, Wednesday – arms and shoulders, and Thrusday – back to legs with back squats and Bulgarian split lunges. Friday is a HIIT day, and I usually sprint on the treadmill and work my abs. On Saturday, it’s shoulders and arms again, and on Sunday, it’s a nice light cardio workout, like a hike or long walk.

What was your starting weight?
215 pounds postpartum. 42% bodyfat

What is your current weight?
145 pounds 15% bodyfat

What is your height?
5’6″

When did you start your journey
I started in 2011, right after giving birth to my son.

How long did your transformation take?
It took me two years to get to 145 pounds. It didn’t happen overnight. It took time.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned that I have to stop comparing myself to others and focus on just me.

What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
It takes time and consistency, but if I can do it as a single mom working two jobs, anyone can. And if you need help, I’m here for you.
