Pour The White Chocolate & Dress the Popcorn

  1. Melt the white chocolate with 1 teaspoon of neutral oil (such as avocado il). You can melt the white chocolate in the microwave in small 30 seconds intervals. This prevent the chocolate from scorching.
  2. Once the chocolate has melted you’re going to drizzle it over the popped corn. Give that a light toss and then right away start sprinkling your spooky candy.

  3. We have a combo of orange and black sprinkles, some eye ball candies , some orange candies and colored chocolates.
  4. Don’t mix them at that point.
  5. Take the baking sheet to the fridge so the chocolate can harden again. You can also flash freeze them for just 10 minutes if you’re rushed.

Tips For the Best Halloween Popcorn

  1. If possible use corn kernels and cook the popcorn at home, from scratch. However if rushed, swap for the store bought.
  2. Use a large baking sheet enough to have the cooked popcorn spread in a single layer. This will help the toppings stick easier.
  3. White chocolate is best here as it doesn’t discolor the popcorn or take over from the toppings. If you want to use milk or dark chocolate, feel free to do so as well.
  4. You can have your white chocolate and toppings set at room temperature or fridge. If you’re actually super rushed, flash freeze the tray for 10 minutes and it’s ready to serve.
  5. While you can serve this in a huge bowl, we love the spooky black cupcake liners where the servings are portioned.
  6. It’s best to enjoy this right away, as it is with any popcorn.
  7. To store the Halloween popcorn: Make sure it has cooled down completely. Store them in ziploc bags for up to 48 hours.

Halloween Popcorn Balls

You can use this recipe to make halloween popcorn balls, but you’ll need to double the white chocolate. Once you’ve poured in the chocolate and your toppings, put gloves on your hand to avoid any stickiness. Portion the popcorn into balls (the size is up to you) classically about 1 inch round balls. At that point, let them set on the same baking sheet.

You can serve them in cupcake liners as well, or insert a lollipop stick in the center and serve it on a stick.
